The Regional Prevention Collaboratives, one of the Thriving Families, Safer Children Kentucky initiatives, continue to pave the way for proactive, community-driven resources and support for children and families.

These collaboratives began during the summer of 2022 with convenings, called Visioning Sessions, where we gathered those living and working in communities to discuss local strengths and gaps, and then brainstormed ideas for community-led efforts that could prevent families from coming to the attention of the child welfare system. From those conversations, action plans were developed and much progress was made towards the identified goals.

Over the summer of 2024 the regions came back together for Re-Visioning Sessions to:

  • Celebrate progress made toward primary prevention over the past two years
  • Assess progress on the objectives
  • Determine strategy modifications for community strengthening and collaboration efforts moving forward

Thus new and updated plans were developed for each region. Community members are already hard at work moving forward with their Regional Prevention Collaboratives Action Plans and creating more avenues for prioritizing community well-being and connection to ensure families thrive.

The plans are living documents with projected tasks and objectives continuing over an anticipated 18-month span. Review the Action Plan for each region below:
