At Kentucky Youth Advocates, we are proud to be Kentucky’s independent voice for kids. The most powerful voices for youth, however, are youth themselves. Your voice matters, and we need YOU to help make Kentucky the best place in America to be young!

Youth Initiatives

Formally known as Children’s Advocacy Day, Children’s Advocacy Week is a week-long celebration where advocates from across the state come together to ask elected officials to step up for Kentucky kids. There are many opportunities throughout the week for youth to get involved, including our annual art and talent show, as well as meet-and-greets with state leaders and representatives.

Face It Youth Ambassadors work alongside the Face It® Movement to help mitigate and prevent child abuse and neglect throughout the Commonwealth. Face It® directly addresses the unacceptable incidences of child abuse and neglect in Kentucky with the promotion of best practices in child abuse prevention and intervention, engaging the community, and advocating for effective policies to improve the child welfare system.

Health Youth Ambassadors program is a statewide group that engages youth in a one-year cohort to learn about advocacy and policy, address social determinants of health through policy change, and advocate for themselves and their peers on health-related issues.

Reform Louisville

REFORM Louisville is a group of young adults helping youth see they have a voice in their community, pushing for more positive opportunities and activities for youth, and seeking a more effective justice system that helps them be ready to return to the community after incarceration.

True Up is a groundbreaking initiative to empower young people in foster care to gain the critical life skills they need to make a successful transition from a structured environment to self-sufficiency in our communities.
