Youth Initiatives
Formally known as Children’s Advocacy Day, Children’s Advocacy Week is a week-long celebration where advocates from across the state come together to ask elected officials to step up for Kentucky kids. There are many opportunities throughout the week for youth to get involved, including our annual art and talent show, as well as meet-and-greets with state leaders and representatives.
Face It Youth Ambassadors work alongside the Face It® Movement to help mitigate and prevent child abuse and neglect throughout the Commonwealth. Face It® directly addresses the unacceptable incidences of child abuse and neglect in Kentucky with the promotion of best practices in child abuse prevention and intervention, engaging the community, and advocating for effective policies to improve the child welfare system.
Health Youth Ambassadors program is a statewide group that engages youth in a one-year cohort to learn about advocacy and policy, address social determinants of health through policy change, and advocate for themselves and their peers on health-related issues.
