Though it has only been a couple months since the last Thriving Families, Safer Children (TFSC) Kentucky update, the drive continues to push noted progress. Across the Commonwealth, child, family, and community well-being remain a high priority and collaborative emphasis.

Here are a few recent TFSC Kentucky happenings:

TFSC Kentucky Team

Thriving Families, Safer Children is first a national movement. Beneath the core guiding organizations, it is a collective statewide effort through a group of committed Kentucky partners. The team recently developed a Statement of Commitment to define their shared roles and solidify their unified spirit.

Regional Prevention Collaboratives

Leads from each of the nine DCBS service regions came together as a post-celebration of Child Abuse Prevention Month events in their areas. Now that April has ended, primary prevention endeavors must go on through implementing strategies and objectives through regional Action Plans. Community strengthening remains a year-long focus and intentional forethought.

Statewide parent council

Kentucky System Experience at the Table (KY SEAT) is still growing and making advancements toward supporting parents of Kentucky kids. If you know of or are a parent with former child welfare system involvement and wish to use your lived expertise to make recommendations for positive systems change, reach out to learn more and join this motivated body.
