What happens when passionate people who want to make a difference come together to listen and learn from one another?

Pretty incredible things.

On March 26th, Bloom Kentucky and the Greater Clark Foundation came together in Winchester at the Clark County Public Library for a Listening & Learning Session. During this session, attendees learned more about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Positive Childhood Experiences, Clark County regional data, received an update from the Sowing Resilience Tour, and heard more about what is taking place this legislative session in relation to their community’s needs and priorities. Attendees also learned more about the opioid abatement funds and how to become more effective advocates in Frankfort.

Reflecting on the session, Health Youth Ambassador and Clark County native, Mallory Jones, shared:

“By attending the Bloom Kentucky Listening and Learning Session for my hometown of Winchester, my eyes were opened to statistics and numbers I wasn’t aware of before. It was awesome to see so many people from my community gather together with a common goal and want to create change for the better! After the meeting, I felt more determined than ever to reach out to my Representative and Senator and have my voice be heard. ”

This session would not have been possible without our incredible partners with the Greater Clark Foundation. When you give people an opportunity to listen and learn from one another, you ignite people with ideas on how to collectively come together to create a shared vision for the future.
