Rally for Kids in Danville on October 10 before the Vice Presidential Debate

Andrea Bennett Selected by Governor to Serve on the Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange Advisory Board

Andrea Bennett, deputy director, at Kentucky Youth Advocates was selected by Governor Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange Advisory Board announced September 18, 2012. The Advisory Board will oversee the creation of the Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange. Health Coverage Continues to Increase for Children in Kentucky

Jeffersontown, KY – Over the last decade the number of uninsured Kentucky children has decreased by 2.9 percentage points. According to the new Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey (CPS), 5.8 percent of children in Kentucky had no health coverage in 2010-2011, down from 8.7 percent in 2000-2001. CHIP is turning 15, let’s celebrate and keep improving

On August 5, children’s advocates in Kentucky and across the country will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) which was signed into law on August 5, 1997. SCHIP was designed to provide health insurance to children who fell in the gap between public and private coverage.
