Significant changes are coming to the state health insurance system that will impact hundreds of thousands of children and families staring October 1. There are currently 640,000 uninsured Kentuckians, or 17.5 percent of the state’s population under age 65. Cabinet seeks contractors (kynectors) to help expand health benefit coverage to Kentuckians

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Office of the Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange (KHBE) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) seeking for-profit and nonprofit entities and community and volunteer organizations to assist consumers who enroll for healthcare benefits through kynect, Kentucky’s Healthcare Connection. Kentucky’s Health Benefit Exchange Website – Kynect – Launches

Governor Beshear recently announced the launch of Kentucky's Healthcare Connection - kynect. This is Kentucky’s Health Benefit Exchange created under the Affordable Care Act. Beginning October 1, kynect will allow individuals, families, and businesses to compare and select insurance plans and to find out if they qualify for programs like Medicaid or Kentucky’s Children Health Insurance Program (KCHIP).
