Journey to Success is a policy advocacy campaign that seeks to improve opportunities and outcomes for all youth and young adults who experience foster care by promoting their healing, family connections, and economic security.
Kentucky Youth Advocates has developed a team of foster care alumni that represent the Journey to Success campaign in our state. In 2021-2022, the Journey to Success Kentucky team met with staffers of Kentucky’s Federal Delegates to advocate for policy changes that would benefit youth and young adults formerly in foster care. In addition, the team wrote an op-ed to create awareness in the community of resources for foster youth and developed a guideline for federal policymakers to utilize when developing policies for foster youth.
Now, the Journey to Success Kentucky team wants to hear from YOU regarding the recent data brief, Fostering Youth Transitions 2023: State and National Data to Drive Foster Care Advocacy, released by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
Join us for a community conversation that involves an overview of the recent report presented by Kentucky Youth Advocates and Journey to Success Kentucky team and a fruitful discussion of action items needed at the program and policy level to increase quality of care for transition-aged foster youth in our state.
