Important Information from the Cabinet on Recent Confusion About State Benefits

By | 2016-04-01T13:31:43+00:00 April 1st, 2016|Blog, Health|

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services held a news conference this week to address inaccurate letters people have received about access to state benefits. If you are a provider, consumer, advocate, or know someone receiving one of these services, you can find information from the Cabinet about recent benefit issues here:

Please see below for details from the Cabinet on benefit eligibility:

►If you received Medicaid benefits in March, you will receive Medicaid benefits in April.

►If you received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and or Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) benefits in March, and you have started your recertification, you will receive SNAP and/or KTAP benefits in April.

►The Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Department for Community Based Services are working with our technology partner, Deloitte, on system issues to stop the incorrect notices.

I received my paperwork to recertify for my SNAP benefits on 4-7-16 and it said to return by 4-10-16. I have sent it but am unsure if it will get to you be 4-10-16. I have called to see if I could find out information but was cut off 3 different times. I have tried to get on the web site “benefind’ but have not been able to navigate because of its complexity. Please inform me as to what I should do next, if anything. Thank you so very much.
