Calling all advocates for kids! Is your mind already drifting to holiday feasts and party? Did you just realize how close we are to the Kentucky General Assembly starting? Are you feeling unprepared but interested in taking action on behalf of Kentucky kids?

Fear not! Kentucky Youth Advocates, along with other Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children partner organizations, have developed a policy agenda listing the 2020 priorities for kids. That agenda will be officially launched on December 3rd (plenty of time to get ready for the legislative. session, which starts on January 7th).

Here are three ways you can get prepared to raise your voice for kids in 2020:

  1. In conjunction with the release of that policy agenda, Kentucky Youth Advocates and partners across the state are hosting a series of regional community conversations where we will share more about Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children policies, how legislators can step up for kids, and what YOU can do to make change happen.

2. In addition to a local event opportunity to prepare for the General Assembly, you will also have an opportunity to electronically prepare on December 3rd, when we will have resources about each policy priority available on the Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children page. 3. And your final to-do item is to register for Children’s Advocacy Day at the Capitol on January 23rd. Registration helps us plan for the number of materials to bring and ensures YOU receive updates about the event as the day approaches.
