Kinship care is an extremely valuable alternative to traditional foster care that allows children to retain strong familial bonds when children cannot stay in their homes with their parents. This issue brief summarizes the findings of a series of focus groups, interviews, and surveys conducted with kinship caregivers and support providers and offers recommendations for increasing supports for kinship families.
