Municipal transportation departments work to move people safely from one place to the other no matter how they choose to get there. Safe Routes to School practitioners should connect with transportation departments to affect long- and short-term planning and to ensure that the vision for future transportation improvements includes opportunities for safe and accessible connections to schools via walking and bicycling.

Please join us as we talk with staff from municipal transportation departments that prioritize walking and bicycling in a number of ways, including housing Safe Routes to School staff.

SPEAKERS:
• Gabe Graff, Safe Routes to School Organizer, City of Portland
• Nancy Nichols, Safe Routes to School Coordinator, City of Fort Collins
• Dave Cowan, program manager, Safe Routes to School National Partnership
This free webinar is part of a series of monthly National Learning Network webinars on topics related to Safe Routes to School and other policy and program initiatives that can increase walking and bicycling to school and in daily life.
