logo1Good news!  We are one step closer to helping protect pregnant women and children from secondhand smoke with a statewide smoke-free law in Kentucky. HB 145 passed the KY House of Representatives last Friday by a vote of 51 to 46.  This is the very first time the KY House has voted on and passed smoke-free legislation – so thanks for helping us make history. As this process moves forward, we will work to ensure both chambers pass a strong bill this session.

Please take a minute to thank your Representative if he or she voted yes on HB 145. Click here to see how your Representative voted. If you don’t know who your Representative is, click here to find out.

If he or she voted for HB 145, please call the legislative message line at 1-800-372-7181. Leave a message of thanks for voting for the smoke-free bill. You can also email or find the mailing address at the “find your legislator” link above if you want to mail a note.

Also, make sure to check out our Ways to Act page on our website as there are several ways you can take action on children’s bills today. We need your voice to help us ensure legislators prioritize children this session.
