Big Ideas Twitter-Young KidsTwo weeks ago, we started asking you – citizens, educators, policymakers, social service workers, Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children partners, and others – to express your big ideas for kids. We want to build on the success we’ve had in recent years of enacting policies that are good for kids and to continue to make progress as we forge ahead in the next few years. We are looking for Big Ideas that lead to Strategic Actions to produce Unrivaled Results for kids.

And we’ve heard several great ideas since we asked for your input. In fact, nearly 200 people from half of Kentucky’s counties have shared their big ideas via our online survey or on social media.

We are inspired by the ideas we’re hearing, such as:

  • Engage youth in the advocacy process
  • Educate community members to prevent and end child abuse
  • Protect kids from online predators
  • Create jobs to help strengthen the economic opportunities for kids
  • Support parents and other caregivers to help strengthen families

These are just a few of the many ideas brought forward in the past two weeks. If you haven’t shared your Big Ideas yet, you still have time. We don’t want to miss the opportunity to hear YOUR Big Ideas for kids.

Please take a moment to fill out our survey by May 22. Or connect with us on social media: leave a post or comment on our Facebook page, or on Twitter mention @kyyouth or use the hashtag #BigIdeasKYKids.

Thank you for helping us shape the future priorities of Kentucky Youth Advocates and the Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children—and for helping all Kentucky kids have the opportunity to thrive.
