TennenFamily-95The wait will finally be over for the many children, parents, and child care centers who were impacted by the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) cuts after the program re-opens Monday August 4, 2014. For over a year parents were unable to apply for CCAP due to the freeze on child care assistance applications. The freeze will be lifted and the eligibility level will increase to 140 percent of the federal poverty level, making it possible for more parents to go to work knowing their children will be safe at a quality child care center.

According to the Department for Community Based Services’ Division of Child Care, interested individuals may apply at their local CCAP office from 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m., or applications will be accepted by mail or fax. The printable application will be available online on August 4th and should be mailed or faxed to your local office. You can also apply online which may be a faster option. If you plan to apply in person, make sure you know what to take with you. Review the CCAP Application Checklist in order to ensure you have what you need to apply.
