PrintAt Kentucky Youth Advocates, we have the opportunity to work with many amazing partners and on several initiatives that are changing the lives for children in the Commonwealth. One such initiative we hope you are aware of is the Kosair Charities Face It® Movement to end child abuse. Face It is a 10- year initiative with the vision that all children in Jefferson County will be free from abuse and neglect by 2023. Led by Kosair Charities, the Face It® Movement began in 2012 in response to the public outcry against the increasing number of child abuse deaths in the Commonwealth. We are so grateful that Kosair Charities stepped up to tackle this important problem.

The Face It® Movement was officially launched in April 2013 and includes best practices in child abuse prevention, community engagement, and promoting effective policies to improve the child welfare system. We are working with medical professionals, child care educators, K-12 educators, youth serving organizations, youth, and policy experts to all be the faces that end child abuse. We hope to gain knowledge that can be applied to other communities across Kentucky.
