Are you looking for a way to improve the lives of children and families in Kentucky as well as those who serve them? Kentucky’s Citizen Review Panels for Child Protective Services are currently seeking volunteers.
The Panels are groups of volunteers who are federally mandated to review Kentucky’s child protection system and make recommendations for improvements in policy, practice, and procedure. Citizen Review Panels are located in the Southern Bluegrass (Lexington and surrounding counties) and Jefferson County regions. There is also a statewide group.
The panels meet twice a year with the Commissioner for the Department for Community Based Services.
Applications are due by July 26, 2013.
What is the purpose of this Citizen Review Panel in regards to child abuse cases, where does the information for this panel come from, what documents are they provided, who is involved in this review, what rights do the parent under investigation have, how are these rights protected, is the case involved an on going case & is the panel given updated information and who does this information come from.
