It’s finally April! I’ve been looking forward to this day since New Year’s, but not just because it (hopefully) means warmer weather is here to stay. April marks an obvious time of new beginnings and fresh starts. It’s a month full of hope and potential which makes it the perfect choice for National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The Face It® Movement, in partnership with many community agencies, would like to invite you to several events scheduled for this month. You can view all events online at http://faceitabuse.org/calendar/. Here are a couple of the top events for the month:
Rally to End Child Abuse
Tuesday, April 8 at 11:00am at the Big Four Bridge in Louisville, KY. Join Family and Children’s Place, Face It® and many other community partners to kick-off Child Abuse Prevention month. The rally will feature top community leaders and end with a walk across the Big Four Bridge. Download and share the rally flyer, here.
Pig Out for Prevention
Sunday, April 27 from 1:00pm-7:00pm at Shack in the Back BBQ in Fairdale, KY. This family-friendly event, hosted by Exploited Children’s Help Organization (ECHO), promises to be fun, informative and stocked with great food! Download and share the event flyer, here.
If you can’t make it out to these events in person, there are other ways you can participate in Child Abuse Prevention month. Start by “liking” and “following” Face It® on Facebook, www.facebook.com/faceitabuse, and Twitter, @faceitabuse.
